Who is responsible for your data

What we collect

Only what you give us and what the app needs to work for you:

• Account — the email address and password you sign up with.
• Your diet journal — meals (free text), water, sleep and wake times, exercise, and personal notes, per day.
• Health & body inputs — the biometrics you enter for personalized targets (sex, birth year, height, weight, activity level), any weight goal, and the supplements or medications you log. These are sensitive (special-category) data.
• Derived wellbeing data — your nutrition estimates, targets, self-care actions, and Living Tree state, all computed from the above.
• Forest connections — if you connect with a buddy, the link and any gifts you send.

We do not collect advertising identifiers, and we do not run third-party ad or analytics trackers.

Where your data is stored

Your data lives in the European Union (Convex, eu-west-1), our backend and authentication provider. Access is limited to what's needed to run the service.

AI features and what they send

Most numbers are computed on our own servers with no AI at all: the food catalog's values are stored, and your daily totals are calculated directly — no text leaves for that.

The paid AI features (free-text nutrition estimation, and the future Companion) send the relevant meal text to our AI provider (Anthropic's Claude) purely to interpret it into a food match and a portion. The model never invents a nutrient number — our servers do the arithmetic. We send only what's needed for that interpretation. A cross-user cache stores resolved food phrases without any link to who wrote them.

How we use it — and how we don't

• To compute your targets, nutrition, and Living Tree — for you.
• To keep your account working and your journal in sync across devices.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. The dietitian PDF is generated for youto share with whom you choose — we don't send it anywhere.

Legal basis (KVKK / GDPR)

We process your account and journal data to provide the service you asked for. Health and body inputs are special-category data; we process them on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you choose to enter them. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting that data or your account.

Keeping and deleting your data

• We keep your data while your account is active.
• You can export everything yourself at any time (Diet journal → “Backup your journal” → Download).
• You can ask us to delete your account and data by emailing windseeker.companion@gmail.com. Self-serve deletion from a settings page is on the way.

Your rights

Under KVKK (Art. 11) and GDPR-style principles you can ask to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and object to processing. Email windseeker.companion@gmail.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Cookies & local storage

We use only what's functionally necessary — your sign-in session and a few on-device preferences (like your water-glass size). No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Who it's for

WingWell is made for adults. It isn't intended for children; please don't use it if you are under 18.

Changes

If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, tell you in the app.
